With the hullabaloo in Plateau state with regards succession, the Chairman of Mikang LGA, Mr. Daniel Kungmi has come out to deny any plans to succeed Jonah Jang in the 2015 general elections.

Kungmi averred that since he was elected into office last February, there has been rife speculations that he (who is considered a close ally of the Governor) was nursing the ambition to contest the 2015 election and take over from him.

Only last week, his posters for the Governorship race flooded every part of the state including Jos, the state capital.
But in a statement which he personally signed and made available to journalist in Jos yesterday, the council Chairman said at no point did he express to anyone or group any intention to run for the Governorship of the state.

The chairman, who described the activities linking him to the Governorship race as the handiwork of mischief makers, maintained that he will continue to remain focused in the discharge of his constitutional duties as chairman of the council area.

While calling on the people to remain vigilant ahead of the 2015 elections, the Council boss also urged them to continue to support the redemption administration of Governor Jang in its efforts to impact positively on the lives of the people.
