Fashek was said to have died at the age of 57 after a prolonged illness. The confirmation was released by his manager, Omenka Uzoma, via his official Instagram handle. He Wrote; “Today been having pressure calls, well it is true that the African No 1 Legendary ICON has gone to be with the LORD his Maker,” “Let celebrate him, his achievements, and his family, whatever decisions made by his immediate family will be notified.”Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek (pronounced as Ma-je-ko-dun-mi Ifa-kii-she-eke), was a Nigerian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was best known in his home country for the 1988 album Prisoner of Conscience, which included the multiple award-winning single “Send Down the Rain”. Also known as The Rainmaker, he worked with various artists worldwide including Tracy Chapman, Jimmy Cliff, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and Beyoncé. May his soul rest in peace.
