A leading aspirant for House of Representative in Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, Dr Elkanah Garang has called on Plateau people, especially constituents of Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency to look into the new year 2022 with hope of better things to come. Dr Elkanah made this known in a statement issued to journalist following the 2022 new year celebration.

Dr Elkanah noted that though 2021 was very challenging for many reasons he urged all to look into the rest of 2022 with hope that things will get better.

Dr Elkanah lamented the security situation in Bokkos where kidnapping for ransom has assumed a disturbing trend, with the recent incident where a young lady was kidnapped hours to her wedding day.

He called on communities to be vigilant and on alert, urging them to report any suspicious movements or persons to security agencies in order to keep their communities safe.

He called on security agencies to double their surveillance efforts especially around rural hinterland communities to ensure that criminal elements and kidnappers are discouraged from terrorising innocent villagers.

He commended the efforts of the Bokkos Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Joseph Guluwa in the area of security and urged the people to complement his efforts in making Bokkos a safe home for all.
