Langai Gamzaki FC Wins 13th Edition of Gen. (Rtr) John Sura’s KMC Football Tournament

The Grand Finale and closing ceremony of the 13th Edition of the Brig. Gen. John Sunday Sura (Rtr) KMC Football Tournament which started on 8th November, 2020 held today Sunday 20th December, 2020 at Panyam Mini Stadium with Langai Gamzaki FC emerging winner of the keenly contested tournament.

Abdulazeez Adamu gave Langai Gamzaki FC the winning with the only goal of the game which he scored during the extra time of the finals.

Speaking at the event, the Sponsor of the Football Tournament, Brig. General John Sunday Sura (Rtr) posited that the tournament has achieved its aim of harvesting talents and fostering the desired goal of peaceful coexistence among the people.
He hinted that the awards given to individuals and teams that has excelled in various endeavors during the competition signified an improvements in moral talents and artistic wizardry and goes to indicate that the future potents great achievements for the Youths.
He said the vision is to ensure the tournament grow both in quality and coverage promising to expand the scope to include the entire Central Zone next Year and subsequently the State at large.
“This is our little efforts in contributing our quota to the Sociological and Human Capital Development of the State and Nation in general.” “Besides, it is my thank you gesture in giving back to the society their years of investments in me.”

“I therefore call on well spirited individuals and even corporate organizations to join force with me so that this noble course achieved it utmost objective of impacting positively in the lives of the Youths.” he concluded.

Chairman of the occasion, Rep. Engr. Solomon Bulus Maren, Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency Plateau State lauded Brig. Gen. John Sura for the initiative and for sustaining same for the past 13 Years. He said the impacts of the tournament are numerous especially building the capacity of the youths, curbing crime rate and fostering peace and unity.
He made cash donations of N100,000 to the Winner of the Tournament and N50,000 to the first runner up, Golden Star FC.

The Miskagham Mwaghavul, HRH Da Nelson Bakfur described the Sponsor as a worthy Ambassador who is passionate about societal growth and development.

Goodwill messages came from National President of Pyam Chiefdom Development Association (PCDA) Alh. Iliyasu Moh’d Manu, Representative of the National Chairman of Mwaghavul Development Association, Plateau State PDP Secretary Capt. Golen, Amb. Godwin Takat and the Plateau Football Association (PFA), Hon. Sunday Samson Longbap who all commended the Sponsor for the well thought initiative.
They said football is a uniting factor while commending the discipline, hardwork and display of professionalism by the Players.

They encouraged the youths to remain focused, positive about life and be diligent in their legitimate endeavors.

Timber Star FC Mangu made 3rd place.

Award to well-behaved Team went to Gutsy FC Pushit, Amos Karami of Gutsy FC got the Award of Highest Goal Scorer, Caleb Coleman (Yellow) of Golden Star FC went home with the valuable Player Award and Abbas Abdulmajik of Langai Gamzaki FC secured the Best Goalkeeper Award.

Abdulazeez Adamu who scored the only goal of the finals expressed satisfaction and fulfillment for making his team victorious after missing a goal earlier in the finals.

Coach Habu Zakari Langai of Langai Gamzaki FC Winner of the Tournament appreciated God for making his team the Winner of the Tournament. He lauded his players for their resilience, teamwork and doggedness.

The First Place, Langai Gamzaki FC got Gold Award, footballs, jerseys and cash reward, the 2nd place, Golden Star FC went home with Silver Award, footballs, jerseys and cash reward while the 3rd place,Timber Star FC Mangu got Bronze Award, footballs, jerseys and cash reward.

The grand finale was well attended by Political Leaders, Traditional Rulers, Religious Leaders, PDP Stalwarts, illustrious Sons and Daughters of Mangu LGA and beyond, youths, women and community association as the Panyam Mini Stadium was filled to Capacity.
