Lalong welcomes 25 Universities to Plateau State.

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has  said the administration’s 5-point policy thrust  is successfully restoring Plateau to its days of glory as “Land of peace and Tourism”.

The governor made the pledge on Monday while declaring open the Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival (NUTAF) 2018 holding at Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos.

Lalong said his administration is leveraging on peace building, agriculture and human capital to fast track developments.

Lalong further pledged his continuous support of the ceative arts towards boosting the tourism sector.

The Governor who was represented by his Commissioner of Information and Communication, Mr Yakubu Dati, said the theme of the festival, “building bridges’’ is a clarion call in addressing the current challenges facing the nation.

According to him, “I am confident that NUTAF 2018 will foster national unity and promote educational and cultural values which are essential ingredients in our collective quest for peace, unity and progress.”

Earlier in a welcome remarks, Prof Yohana Izam, the Vice Chancellor of PLASU, thanked NUTAF Board of Trustees for making the Univeristy proud for being the first state University to host the festival in it’s 37 year old history.

Izam thanked the rescue administration of Gov Simon Lalong for reopening and empowering the University towards successfully hosting budding artiste across 25 Nigerian Universities.

Also speaking, Prof Emmanuel Dandaura, Chairman, Board of Trustees of NUTAF expressed graititude to Governor Lalong and the Vice Chancellor for supporting the annual event that brings students, professionals and experts under one roof.

Several speakers including the LGA Chairman, Yakubu Tamwai invited delegates to enjoy the temperate weather and hospitality on the Plateau.
