Lalong vows to improve state of education in Plateau

Plateau State governor, Simon Bako Lalong, says among the myriad of problems and challenges he inherited from the Jang administration is a decayed and faulty education system.

The governor stated this yesterday while speaking at the 2015 graduation ceremony of Saint Louis College Jos. He said his plan is to improve on the quality of primary and secondary education in the state. Governor Lalong said having started the payment of outstanding workers salaries, his next priority will be security and education.

He said he was not one of the governors who went to President Muhammadu Buhari to ask for help in clearing the backlog of workers’ salaries because he had the option of taking a loan. Lalong emphasised that only N93million was left in the account of the state government and a debt profile of N104 billion.

Of the 64 graduating students of Saint Louis, Juliet Nweke emerged the Overall best graduating student while Rachael Bernard was the best graduating student in CISCO and computer science.
