Lalong signs bill establishing Multi court house Law 2017

Plateau state governor Simon Lalong ,on Thursday signed the bill for a law to establish the Plateau Multi Door Courthouse Law( PMDC) 2017 .
Speaking at the occasion which took place at the Government house in Jos, Lalong said the objective of PMDC is to enhance access to justice by providing alternative mechanisms to supplement litigation in the resolution of disputes.
He said the Bill objective is to Mimmisze citizens frustration and delays in justice delivery by providing a standard legal framework for the fair ,speedy and efficient settlement of disputes through Alternative Dispute Resolution ADR and to serve as a focal point for the promotion of ADR in Plateau State and also to promote the growth and effective functioning of the Justice system through ADR methods .
Also this would encourage disputing parties whose matters are already listed before the court to appear before it to explore settlement options .
PMDC shall collaborate with and maintain working relationship with reputable and recognised organisations, including but not limited to the center for Alternative dispute resolution of the Plateau State ministry of Justice in their operations, services and referral of matters to it on terms and conditions agreed upon by the parties.
