Lalong sets up  panel to investigate students riot at College of Education Gindiri

Plateau State Governor  Simon Lalong, on Monday set up an Administrative panel to investigate the  causes of the riot that broke out at the college of Education in Gindiri Mangu local government that led to the lost of a life and properties destroyed last week Thursday. 

 

Gov Lalong who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the state Hon Rufus Bature at the occasion  said “the panel would identify the immediate cause of the riot that broke out last week Thursday, they are to ascertain the extent of damage to lives and properties and to recommend apoporiate    measures  aim at forstalling  further occurrence .”

Gov Lalong also warned that government would not tolerate such wanton destruction of lives and properties or any form of violent demonstration in any of it’s institution of learning. 

It could be recalled that Gov Lalong had at the weekend visited the college of education Gindiri in Mangu local government for an on the spot assessment following students unrest at the college on the 22nd of February 2018 ,which led to the loss of life of a student and destruction of properties in the school. 

Our Correspondent reports that the panel is  to be chaired by Professor Owoicho Akta.
