Today Friday, 3^rd February, 2017 is the Annual Thanksgiving and Prayer Day in Plateau State.The thanksgiving service will hold at the Government House Chapel, Rayfield, Jos, by 12:00noon.

This is the second Annual Thanksgiving to be held under the Rescue Administration of Governor Simon Bako Lalong.

This announcement was contained in the press release of 31^st January, 2017, signed by the Director of Press and Public Affairs to Governor Simon Lalong, Mr. Emmanuel Samuel Nanle.

“In view of the above, the Rt. Hon Speaker and the Honorable members of the Plateau State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; the Chief Judge of Plateau State; Special Advisers; Permanent Secretaries; Chief Executives of Boards and Parastatals; Chairman; Plateau State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Members of the Council, Chairman, All Progressives Congress, Plateau State; Management Committee Chairmen of the 17 LGCs; All Political appointees and Party Stalwarts, Elders, Religious leaders and Members of the general public are invited and they are to converge at the Government House Chapel, Rayfield, Jos, by 12:00noon for the service”

When the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong took office in 2015, he declared that every last Friday of the Month to be observed as Prayer and Fasting Day, while the 3^rd of February, every year will be observed as Plateau State Day of Thanksgiving, in commemoration of the creation of the State.
