News available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Plateau State Government has issued 14 operational vehicles to its Vehicle Inspection Department in order to enhance the generation of internal revenue.

The Governor said the 14 brand new pick up vans which were presented to the Department will be used to enforce road regulations and complement government efforts. The vehicles presented to the Vehicle Inspection Department of the ministry of works and transport includes: two heavy duty vehicles for towing and two pot-hole patching machines and other vehicles.

He said the donation is geared towards enhancing safety on the highways and improving the economic activities in the state.

Speaking, the Director Inspection Department for Plateau State, John Daya, said by strengthening the resources of the Vehicle Inspection Department it will be able to improve the revenue to vehicle and road user charges.

With the operational vehicles presented to the department in the state, it will empower the department in performing its duty of planning, organizing, controlling and directing all aspects of vehicles, registration and other related matters which will also improve the Internally Generated Revenue of the state.
