KOSA Celebrates 80th Anniversary, Gets New EXCO

As part of the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Government Science School, Kuru, the Kuru Old Students Association (KOSA) recently held its National Coonvention where new EXCOs of the Association were elected and inaugurated.
The National Convention which took place on November 6, 2021; brought KOSA members from all facets of life in celebration of their alma mater.
Prior to the election of the new EXCOs, Prof. Dung Pam Sha, Professor of Political Economy at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru – Nigeria delivered a key note address on the topic “Making Education work for the future of Nigeria”.
Speaking at the convention, the outgone President Justice Ibrahim Auta Rtd (OFN) who was represented by the outgoing Vice President 1, Nehemiah Gagara of class 81, admonished the new EXCO to consolidate on the landmark achievements of the association and ensure the unity and progress of KOSA.

The convention ushered in new EXCOs who will pilot the affairs of association in the next four years birthed the following executives:

  3. Mr Ismaila Bature Shuaibu- Vice President 2
  4. Barr. Simon B. Dung- Secretary General
  5. Mr Ngal N. Dauda- Assistant Secretary
  6. Mr Samurl Yusuf – Financial Secretary
  7. Mr Edom Atomen- Assistant Financial Secretary
  8. Mr Dadu J. Philip- Treasurer
  9. Mr. Tongshak E. Pwaspo- Assistant Treasurer
  10. Dr. Richard Joseph- Internal Auditor
  11. Mr. Rwang Weng Abubakar- Public Relations Officer
  12. Mr Milaham Sunday- Assistant Public Relations Officer
  13. Barr. Henry S. Longs- Legal Adviser

After the inauguration and swearing which took place immediately, the brand new KOSA National President, Dr Musa Wen Ibrahim in his acceptance speech charged KOSA members worldwide to sacrifice selflessly to the growth of the school and the association.
Urshering in a new dispensation, he donated the sum of N500,000 to the Principal of the School to help tackle the problems of seats for students which was a major issue affecting their studies.
