Killings -Plateau would resist Land grabbers says Gov Lalong

Plateau state governor Simon Lalong on Tuesday lamented the spate of killings and displacement of settlements in the state saying that his administration would not tolerate land grabbing in any part of the Plateau .
Lalong made the declaration while speaking during a town hall meeting on the ocassion of the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to commiserate with the people of the state over the unfortunate killings of innocent villagers by suspected Fulani herdsmen .
He said those fighting, killing people and destroying their settlements with the intention of taking ownership of such places would not be allowed to do so
“If you think you can chase people out and grab their land we as a government would not allow you to own the land .
He disclosed that the “administration is working out modalities for prosecuting land grabbers to discourage the act.

He appealed to the federal government to provide materials and funds to enhance the return of displaced persons back to their homeland .
Lalong also informed that in Plateau displaced persons hardly go to Internally Displaced camp, adding such persons prefer to go to the homes of relatives ,”so we are calling on NEMA to come to our rescue very quickly .
In a related development ,Gov Lalong on Wednesday visited the Jos university teaching hospital Juth to commiserate with the victims of the recent crisis in the state who were receiving treatment at the hospital ,he said his administration is determined to ensure that the culprits’ of the killings are arrested .
Meanwhile Senate President Bukola Saraki on Wednesday visited Jos the Plateau state capital to commiserate with the people of the state over the unfortunate killings of innocent villagers by gunmen suspected to Fulani herdsmen
Saraki arrived the state at about 1PM .
Also the Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the reversal of the transfer of Mr. Undie Adie as the Plateau State Police Commissioner.
Mr. Adie was transfered on Tuesday as confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tyopev Terna in a statement.
In a fresh statement on Wednesday by Plateau State Command PPRO Tyopev Terna confirmed that the IGP had reversed the transfer.
The statement also reads that the deployment of officers in any part of the country is at the exclusive discretion of the IGP and should therefore not be contested.
Mr. Adie according to the statement had since taken over from his initial successor.
CP Adie appreciated the support of Plateau people so far and sued for more, the statement.
