JUST IN: PROF NORA DADUUT PROJECTED TO WIN PLATEAU SOUTH APC PRIMARIES

Professor Nora Daduut a female Professor of French Language has been projected to win the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for Plateau Senatorial District.

Our correspondent gathered from sources on ground in Shendam where the primaries is taking place that Daddut is bid to win in most local government who have participated in the ongoing primaries .

A source who spoke to our correspondent said that the overwhelming support Prof Nora has received from the delegates is something else .

The source said that before now most of the delegates believe in her capacity to take the Southern zone to higher heights .

” She is outstanding and would better the lives of citizens of southern zone if she wins .

It could be recalled that the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress Primary Election Committee for Plateau South Senatorial District Hon. Habu Ajiya has said they would conduct free and fair election that will be acceptable not only to the candidates, but all the APC delegates in Southern Zone of Plateau State.

Hon. Ajiya stated this on Thursday while briefing Journalists in Shendam LGC of the State Venue of the APC Primary elections.

He disclosed that a total of 2,117 delegates from the six Local governments Areas of the Southern Zone are expected to participate in the primary elections.

“We are here today for a family business, APC is a family and all the aspirants are members of one family the APC, so we will do our best as seven member committee to conduct free and fair elections that will be acceptable not only to the aspirants, but the entire delegates and APC members of Southern Zone”.

Member Representing Shendam, Qua’an Pan and Mikang Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Abuja Hon. Alphonsus Komsol who spoke at the occasion expressed happiness with the arrangement for the primaries, saying APC is a united family whosoever emerge winner of the primaries will be supported during the secondary elections slated for 31st October, 2020.

“This primary elections is not a do or die, APC is one family as you can all arrangements is on ground, proper security around, the committee members are doing their best and I want to assure you that APC is stronger in Plateau State”.

Also speaking the Chairman of Shendam Local Government Hon. Alex Nantuam assured that all proper arrangement by the Local government in terms of security has been properly put in place.

Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong had expressed confidence that the APC will retain its seat at the Senate during the forthcoming by-election to elect a replacement for the late Senator Ignatius Longjan.

Lalong stated this shortly after casting his vote at the APC primary election held to elect the candidate of the party for the by-election on Thursday.

He commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of delegates and party officials describing it as the display of democratic maturity.

He said “we have been preparing for this primaries as one united family to ensure that we produce the best candidate that will fly the flag of the APC at the main elections. Whoever the delegates choose, we shall rally round him or her and market to the electorate in order to ensure that we retain our seat. We are very optimistic of victory as our party ramains the dominant party in this Senatorial District with records of performance”.

While wishing the candidates the best, he expressed hope that those who do not emerge victorious will support the winner and work for the party.

It would be recalled that the Southern Senatorial Senate seat became vacant after the death of Late Senator Ignatius Longjan in February, 2020.
