Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Bala Usman has expressed his administration’s Commitments towards carrying people with Disabilities along.

This, the Chairman added the rescue Administration of Governor Simon Lalong has directed the Seventeen Council Chairmen to include people living with Disabilities to be part of their Government.

The Chairman stated this during the distribution of wheel chairs to people living with Disabilities at the Local Government Council Secretariat in Jos.

In all, over sixty people living with Disabilities benefited from the free wheel chair distribution.

Shehu Usman said in no distant time, his administration will increase the number of people living with Disabilities into his cabinet to give them a sense of belonging in line with the vision of Governor Simon Lalong.

He acknowledged the good work being done by the Executive Director of Beautiful Gate,Ayuba Gufwan for always coming to the aid of people of living with Disabilities.

Usman encouraged them to be firm and make them self-reliant in their conditions.

Usman said that Governor Simon Lalong sees People living with Disabilities as special in his administration in the area of peace Building initiative.

The Chairman challenge the beneficiaries to avoid selling the wheel chairs as his administration will continue to monitor all of them.

He sued for prayers from the beneficiaries for the successful 2023 General Elections.

Executive Director Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Center Jos Ayuba Gufwan said the gesture is part of the corporate social responsibility to Care for people physically Challenged

He said his organization is aware of the challenges being faced by people living with Disabilities.
Gufwan said with closer collaboration with Chairman of Jos North Counci, more wheel chairs will be made available.

The Executive Director commended Governor Simon Lalong’s vision for establishing the Disability rights Commission.

Supervisory Councilor of social services Jos North Arin Boda said the beneficiaries were carefully selected without any bias.

The beneficiaries who spoke separately commended the Executive Director and the Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council Shehu Usman for caring for them
