Following the twin bomb explosions that claimed the lives of scores of people and leaving several others injured in Jos on Thursday evening, Senator representing Plateau North and gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Plateau State, Gyang Pwajok, said the forces that want to dismember Nigeria are doing so gradually.
Pwajok disclosed this in Jos, while interacting with news men in Jos, after visiting the injured victims of the blast at Plateau Specialists Hospital and Bingham University
Teaching Hospital.
He said, “I think we have gotten to a point where we are already celebrating peace, especially in this part of Nigeria, but as you can see if there is any lack of peace in any part Nigeria it affects the
rest of Nigeria. So I think we must move away from this fallacy of being detached from what is happening in the North-East and other parts of the North and now what is beginning to happen even here in Jos-Plateau State.
“It appears as if the forces that want to dismember this nation are doing so gradually. They are dismembering individuals, sometimes without even knowing their identities. As a result it is a reflection of the way and manner the value of human lives has degenerated as it affects those who actually the perpetuators of this act.
The lawmaker further explained that, “As you can see people are moving about their normal business earning their living, not even knowing that anybody somewhere is thinking with some evil intensions and that’s the way terror works.
The PDP governorship hopeful lamented that people are imbibing new traditions and culture, which is not known to Christianity or Islam in Nigeria.
Adding that, this tradition is being copied from far away areas, showing that global terror appears to be on the rise, saying it requires collective effort to be quelled.
“I have always maintained that this is not a political matter, its something that has to do with humanity and survival; survival of the people, Nigeria and it does not have any respect for party inclination at all, anybody could become a victim.
“Our concern is to continue to pray for this nation and continue to work collectively to address security problems, and were necessary begin to restructure our security system to respond to the realities on ground.
Pwajok commiserated with the families of the deceased and assured that the injured would be assisted, adding that they will continue to for God to heal the injured.
“We share the pains of these happenings not only in Jos, but all over Nigeria”.
