JIBWIS Urges Plateau Christians, Muslims to Live in Peace
By Ado Abubakar Musa
The Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa’lkamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), has called on Christians and Muslims in the Plateau State to live peacefully with one another. Sheik Sani Yahaya Gingir, JIBWIS’s National Chairman, Ulama Council, made the call during the group’s Annual National Preaching, held at Ali Kazaure Eid Praying Ground, Jos.
Sheik Jingir while urging people to live in peace, also commended Governor Simon Lalong for his quest to ensure peace and harmony in the state. He prayed that the state should not witness the crisis that it had experienced in the past.
The Islamic cleric further urged the governor to provide infrastructure and other developmental projects for the people of the state, believing that the group was very confident in his leadership.
The spiritual leader urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to bow to the calls to sack the security heads, instead he should restrategise security operations in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality in the country.
The Islamic cleric said rushing to sack military heads, especially at this time, might not be the solutions to the country’s security problem because issues of security “is very sensitive that can’t just be changing at any slightest reason”.. He further called on Nigerians to continue to pray for peace and unity of the country rather than throwing abusive words on their leaders, calling on all and sundry to be security conscious and never allow politicians to use them for their surreptitious objectives.
