The management of Jay FM Jos has visited the Plateau State Ministry of Information and Communication at Joseph Gomwalk Secretariat Jos, Plateau State.
Leading the delegation, the Head of Marketing of the Station, Mr. Yusuf Akuetieme and other Staff of the Station who were received by the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry, Hon. Dan Manjang hinted that the purpose of the visit was to seek partnership, address grey areas which requires attention and discuss better ways of healthy working relationship henceforth.
Mr. Akuetieme lauded the present government on its peace building efforts which has created confidence and dislodge fears from citizens in the State. He said citizens now go to communities that hitherto were referred to as “no-go areas” in the past.
He said there is need for synergy between the government and the Station in order to keep the public abreast with government activities and programmes.
He posited that the peace & prosperity of the State is beneficial to all citizens.
In his remarks, the Honorable Commissioner of Information and Communications, Hon. Dan Manjang who was flanked by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Da Michael Pam, Mrs. Theodora Damulak Director of Information and other management staff of the Ministry commended the management of the Radio Station for the visit and disclosed that the government needs the media in a symbiotic relationship to propagate its activities to the public for beneficial feedback.
Hon. Manjang posited that government and the media are partners in progress.
The Media play vital roles in societal and national transformation.
He urged the media to adhere to the code of conduct and display high sense of professionalism.
He said government is doing its best to tackle the insecurity bedevilling the State.
“I will want to be remembered for having a good relationship with the media” he said.
He assured the station of the State government readiness to partner with it and other stations in the State.
He said the government is open to constructive criticisms.
