Plateau state Governor, Da Jonah Jang has commissioned the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp while dedicating the project to former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon.
The Governor commissioned the project at its permanent site in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of the state just as he embarks on the finale phase of his government that ends in a couple of days.
Jang said the NYSC scheme has helped in uniting Nigeria by bringing people of diverse ethnicity and religion together. He called on the youth corps members and staff to make judicious use of the facilities provided.
The Governor commended former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon who is also from Plateau for initiating NYSC as a way of uniting the country and said that the project will be dedicated to retired General.
Sylvanus Dangtoe, who is the Commissioner for Urban Development stated that the project was 95 percent completed and added that it cost N2.9 billion. He added that it was one of the best in the country.
