DECLARATION OF INTEREST TO CONTEST FOR THE POST OF SECRETARY-GENERAL IN THE FORTHCOMING RIYOM OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (ROSA) NATIONAL ELECTION OF 25TH MARCH, 2017 AT PLATEAU STATE POLYTECHNIC, JOS CAMPUS

Dear Sir/Ma,
For any association or organization to function effectively and achieve its goals, vision and mission, it needs strong, proactive and pragmatic leadership (Executives).

It is on account of the quest for quality representation and leadership that I present myself to sacrificially, diligently and wholeheartedly to serve our great Association (ROSA) in the capacity of the Secretary-General in the forthcoming National Election putting into account the immense impacts Government Secondary School made to my person.

As the Secretary-General of this revered association and a team player, i will work to support the National President, Vice-President, other Executives and members in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Association. I believe in teamwork and together we can take ROSA and our Alma mater to enviable and greater height.

If supported and elected as the Secretary-General by God’s grace I put in my best to ensure the objectives, vision and mission of this great association are attained at appreciable levels. I will do the following;

1. Ensure meetings are effectively organized, minuted, recorded and documented.

2. Maintaining effective records and administration.

3. Upholding the legal requirements of governing documents.

4. Manage the communication correspondence between the Executive and other entities, internal and external.

5. Maintaining effective of records and effective administration of association’s assets.

6. Manage the association’s membership database. This I will do by keeping a registry of association members.

7. Record, publish, circulate and maintain the minutes of Executive/congress meetings.

8. Maintain a calendar of association events and notify association personnel of forthcoming events in a timely manner.

9. Act as a focal point for receiving and sending of correspondence on behalf of the association.

10. Keep a copy of all inwards and outwards correspondence.

11. Sending out notices of general meetings to the association membership.

12. Compile and send out the agenda for Executive/committee meetings.

13. Ensure seminars, symposium and workshops are organized to students of Government Secondary School Riyom so that they can achieve the Motto of the School which is “knowledge makes man”

14. Ensure effective delegation of responsibilities/duties to the Assistant Secretary-General and work in unity with the personnel for the common good of the association and our great Alma mater.

15. Come up with attractive reward system to performing students to enhance hard work, passion, zeal performance in education.

16. Unite Alumni of Government Secondary School Riyom with the intention to attracting projects that are priority to our Alma mater. We will do so by bringing together graduates of the School to contribute immensely to the growth and development of the School in order to compliment government efforts to developing education.

I will work with the entire Executives and members of this great and reputable association to ensure that accountability, transparency and probity are entrenched in the association.
Collectively as a team, we can achieve the goals, mission and vision of ROSA as well as bring the lost glory of Government Secondary School Riyom through visible programmes and projects.

I wish to also notify members that only registered members will be allowed to exercise their franchise and to register contact Mrs. Margaret Kangyang Pwajok on 08035046170 (member of the Electoral Committee) of No. 8 Old Airport Junction Jos Plateau State to pay N500 for membership or pay into First Bank PLC Account 3113380227 with account name Riyom Old Students Association Electoral Committee. Registration will end on 19th March, 2017.

I need your support in all ramifications to enable us work together towards the actualization of a better and greater ROSA.
