Hon. Timothy Dantong’s House of Assembly Ambition Receives Spiritual Blessings in Bachi

As the political cloud in Plateau State continue to thicken, Aspirants are springing up and making wider consultations and strategic permutations to attract supports to their political ambitions.

Hon. Timothy Dantong, one of the strongest House of Assembly Hopefuls for Riyom Constituency, Plateau State is not left out as he has continued making frantic efforts to clinch the Primaries elections under the Platform of the PDP which will see him taking over from the current member, Hon. Daniel Dem the former Majority Leader and present Minority Leader PLHA who is serving his Second tenure and has declared his intention to run for the Federal House of Representatives for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency.

Hon. Timothy Dantong who is enjoying wider and massive supports on account of his grassroot engagements and closeness is not leaving anything to chance as he is making efforts to emerge victorious.

Today, his campaign team being led by the Director General, Amb. Friday Bako visited LCC Bachi, Riyom LGA to get spiritual blessings as it commence wider engagements.

In the Church Amb. Friday Bako thanked the leadership of the Church for the warmth reception and consoled them over the demise of their Treasurer who was murdered by killer herdsmen last week. He said they were at the Church to seek the blessings of the Spiritual fathers as they go into the political space. He described the Aspirant, Hon. Timothy Dantong as a bold, frank, fearless, credible, God-fearing person and competent person who will represent the people well because he has first-hand knowledge of the problems and challenges of the people being a grassroot person.

Father to the Aspirant Pastor Elder Dantong said he is fully in support of his son and have great confidence in his capacity.
He said his Son, Hon. Timothy started politics before his late Elder Brother, Sen. Gyang Dantong and was to contest for the Federal House of Representatives but had to withdraw for his elder brother who won and later became a two-time Senator before his demise as a Serving Senator in 2012.
He blessed the aspiration and wished him the best.

The Aspirant, Hon. Timothy Dantong while addressing the congregation said he is a product of the Church and would not disappoint the people if elected.

He said he is in the Church for spiritual prayers and supports as he go into the race proper. He said he has no one to run to if not God and want God to help him use the people to enable him achieve his dream.

He said he would do his best to address the plights of the people if given the opportunity to serve.
He also said he would work towards unite the people of the Constituency and provide quality leadership, representation and make legislation that would address their problems.

He promised to bring development and people-oriented projects to the people if elected. “Dividends of democracy would be visible and at the doorsteps of my Constituents if given the opportunity to serve” he said.
He charged those eligible but not registered to ensure they register in the ongoing Voters’registration exercise, vote credible persons into power and ensure their votes count.

He said as a person who was born and brought up in the grassroot, he is aware of the challenges confronting the people and would put his best towards addressing them with the help of God and supports of the people. He said the collective interest of the people is his concern and he is ready to pursue their interest no matter what it would cost him.
He thanked the Church for the opportunity and reception accorded him and his campaign team.

The Caretaker of the Local Church Council, Rev. Sunday Dachollom Gogs described Hon. Timothy Dantong as a humble, God-fearing, a responsible person and a hardworking gentleman. He prayed God to make the aspiration come true and make him grow politically to become Member House of Representatives after this, then Senator to continue from where his late Brother stopped and one day become a Governor.

He led other Pastors, Church elders and leadership including the District Head of Bachi, HRH Da Gyang Dalyop to pray for the Aspirant. He thanked the wife of the Aspirant, Mrs. Rahila Dantong for her assistance to people in her workplace and the less privileged in the society and admonished her to continue with such kind gestures.

Head of COCIN CC Sharubutu, Pastor Davou Yakubu who preached admonished the Aspirant to look up to God all through the contest and engage in healthy campaigns. He said he is happy that the Aspirant didn’t disappoint his father but serving God. He called on the supporters to continue to pray for the Aspirant even at home.

The Wife of the Aspirant, Mrs Rahila Dantong thanked the Church for the spiritual supports and promised they would continue to serve God diligently.

Others who were part of the Campaign Team include the Former Leader Riyom Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Sati Shuwa, Former Majority Leader Riyom Legislative Arm Hon. Dauda E. Dim, former Councillor Atakar Ward Hon. Anthony, that of Rim Ward Hon. Joshua Dauda, other Prominent sons/daughters of Riyom LGA, youth, women and elders were not left out.

Guests were later treated to a Dinner at the family House of the Aspirant.

Hon. Timothy Dantong was former SSA to the immediate past Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah David Jang.
