Hon. Timothy Dantong Takes Visit of Traditional Rulers to Ganawuri District, Riyom LGA

The Member representing Riyom Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Dalyop Dantong has taken his appreciation visit of Traditional Rulers to Ganawuri District Riyom LGA, Plateau State.

The Lawmaker told the Traditional Leaders that the essence of being in their domain is to thank them for the support accorded him to be elected, seek their elderly guidance and advice as custodians of the people in the area.

Hon. Timothy appreciated them for their roles they are playing in peace building and guiding the people. He said such advisory roles are contributing immensely to the growth and development of the Locality, Local Government Area & State at large.

He reiterated his commitment and desire towards quality and people-oriented legislation and representation with special attention to the priority needs of the people.

Hon. Dantong promised to make case for the completion of all ongoing projects and attract projects that will have direct impact on the people.

He urged those residing in the constituency to live peacefully with their host communities, be patriotic and loyal as well to the peace, unity, growth and development of the Constituency.

He urged the Traditional Leaders to dialogue towards curbing the attacks in some locations saying there is no alternative to peace.

“No meaningful development or prosperity can be achieved without peace” the Lawmaker said.
He said the need for peace cannot be overstressed.

He said his door is opened for guidance, healthy and constructive criticisms at all times.

Hon. Dantong promised to carry all along devoid of any form of sentiments or preferential treatment saying he is a Representative of the whole people including those residing and doing their businesses within the constituency.

The Lawmaker and his entourage got warm reception by the Atta Aten of Ganawuri, HRH Da Yakubu Chaimang alongside other Members of his Traditional Council.

The Paramount Ruler appreciated the Lawmaker for the visit and the honor accorded the Traditional Institution which he described as well thought of, apt and commendable being the first of its kind.

The Traditional Rulers who spoke separately said the Lawmaker is starting on good footing and admonished him to sustain that.

They said they will continue to give him guidance to enable him succeed and excel.

They charged him to take infrastructural and human capital development seriously.

They charged him to give attention to education, facilities, staffing in government schools and infrastructures in the Palace.

They urged him to make security paramount in his legislation considering the concern of the Constituency in that regard.

They said considering his wealth of experience gathered over time, they are optimistic he will not disappoint the people and believe he need not be told the problems confronting the Constituency.

They urged him to pursue unity and give fair treatment to all irrespective of tribal, religious and political affiliations.

The visit climaxed with special prayers to the Lawmaker by the traditional Rulers.

The Lawmaker was accompanied by Hon. Anthony Ajimbiri former Councillor Attakar Ward, Hon. Danjuma Jong former Councillor Tse Ward, Hon. Gywa Gwong Former Councillor Gurra Ward, Hon. Jehu, Hon.
