Hon. Timothy Dantong Calls For the Preservation of Culture

The Honorable Member representing Riyom Constituency at the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Dantong has called for the promotion of languages and Cultures in order to preserve them from going into extinction.

The Legislator said language is vital in transmitting culture and should be preserved and passed to generations without losing its value despite modernization and civilization.

Hon. Dantong said languages are used to express thoughts, feelings and meaning through symbols and sounds.

He made the disclosure today Sunday 7th July, 2019 at the Premiere and Launch of a Berom Movie titled ‘Nerat’ produced by Bot Moses Bot of Bodumos Media which held at Dadin Kowa Youth Centre Jos, Plateau State.

He urged the Berom to be proud of their dialect and culture while calling on those residing in Berom Communities to learn the tribe.

He encouraged the Producer to remain focused and not despise the days of his little beginning despite the challenges he may be encountering.

He commended the vision and talent of the producer saying the sky will be his starting point in what he has set to achieve.

He supported the Launch and said his door is wide open to partner with progressive talents to move the State and Nation forward.

The Legislator charged the youth to use their talents, abilities and capabilities rightly to impact the society positively.
