Hon. Rims Nimchak is Transforming the Fortunes of Langtang South LGA

About a year ago, Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong swore in 11 newly elected local government chairmen .

Our correspondent report that the election was conducted in 13 of the 17 local governments after the state government left out four others – Jos North, Jos South, Riyom and Barkin-Ladi – citing “prevailing security situation”.

Lalong, while swearing-in the chairmen last year , called on them to strive to improve the living standards of their constituents and initiate measures to shore up the revenue profile of their areas.

One of the LGA chairman that has performed excellently well and has improved the living standard of his LGA ,is the Executive chairman of Langtang South Hon. Rims Samson Nimchak.

Langtang South is a Local Government Areain Plateau State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Mabudi.

The people of the local government are predomenatly farmers as the LGA is endowed with diverse and rich natural resources.
Cross RiverAgricultural produce like rice, cassava, yam, maize, among others, are produced in large quantities every year.

Rims on assumption of office did not joke with the issue of security as he worked to ensure lasting peace in the local government , our correspondent reports that the LGA which use to be crisis ridden is now one of the most peaceful in the state .

On education , Rims created a conducive environment for education to thrive as he recently procured exercise books for some primary and secondary schools students .

Rims further registered the Joint Admission Matriculation Board JAMB for over 200 outstanding students of Langtang south who performed excellently well in their WAEC results .

As at the last check our correspondent gathered that 10 students in various tertiary institutions are been sponsored by the Executive Chairman ..

In Agriculture the chairman ensured that farmers get the best

Before now Farming, which is supposed to sustain the livelihood of people of Langtang south ,is hallmarked by post-harvest losses. Crops rot away as farmers cannot get them to the market because of bad roads. The loss is debilitating, entrenching poverty. “Some food products never get to leave the farm before they experience spoilage, damage or waste while others happen during transport, storage and in the markets, at the moment the LGA chairman is doing his best in ensuring that roads are constructed to enable that farm products are transported to the market without stress .

He has also done excellently well in distribution of fertilizers and improved seedlings to farmers in the state .

Speaking to our correspondent , Rims said i would continue to do more for people of my LGA

The APC government in my LGA is working to ensure that farmers get the best government can offer .

In the health sector , Rims is also working to ensure that the sector is given a facelift .

It could be recalled that Rims Nimchak ,recently offered free Medical Outreach to over 5,000 Residents of the local government .

Our correspondent reports that the free Medical outreach was carried out in conjunction with Eden- Compassion And Health Mission Int’l(ECHM) .

Speaking to newsmen at the venue of the outreach in Mabudi the LGA headquarters Mr. Rims said “the APC led government is determined to provide quality healthcare Services to the people of the Area. “During our campaigns we vowed to provide free Medical services to our people and we are now fulfilling this promises with the little resources we have”.

“The APC led Government is determined to touch the lives of the downtrodden in the society”he added.

“We decided to go into Medical Outreach whereby we go to the suburbs to reach out to people,” thousands of residents have benefitted from the programme “. He added.

Mr .Rims said ” Several Medical Doctors, Optometrists and Laboratory Technicians participated in the outreach, “and urged residents to always ensure they take advantage of such outreaches by presenting themselves for the free medical check-ups. He urged the people to be patient and follow due processes as the Doctors will attend to all citizens who avail themselves.

A beneficiary of the Free Medical Outreach Mama Rifkatu Dombin from Faya thanked the Chairman for such a bold step to reach to the poor at their time of their need.

She said “before now she did not have money to treat herself until the outreach .”

Another beneficiary, of the Medical Outreach Pricila Nangwang commended the LGA boss for saving her the cost of paying for treatment at hospital.
“This is more than the medical outreaches people have been doing here.” They check my blood pressure, took my blood, gave me drugs and food. “If I had gone to hospital, I will spend so much money but I got everything for free i am grateful,” She said.

Also at the moment the LGA boss is building a primary health care clinic in Faya .

Also on roads , Rims led administration constructed the Turaki – Mile four bridge in Turaki ward of the LGA .

He also constructed the Rinding Gamaikai-Takalafia-Ndinshan road amongst several roads in the LGA and promised to do more .

In terms of social welfare , Rims purchased an official a Sports utility Vehicle for the district head of Langtang South .

He also purchased three motorcycles to aid movement of three major Village heads in the LGA as well as the purchase of brand new official cars to aid the smooth running of governance in the LGA .

The LGA boss also purchased laptops for Langtang south residents who were trained on computer .

Speaking to our correspondent on his one year in office , Rims promised to continue to tackle poverty, poor health care and education as well as as carter for the youths women and aged.

He said “My desire is to create a Langtang south filled with growth opportunities for all diligent and hard-working people, both young and old. ’ saying he possesses every necessary competence to move the LGA forward .

We run an open door policy we are committed to the growth of our local government and Plateau .

Hon Rims further hailed Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts in developing Plateau .

“Governor Lalong came with a vision and a clear cut agenda on how to reposition the State.

He began with his 5-point policy thrust, which include peace and security; human capital development; infrastructural development; education; health and tourism; agriculture and rural development.

The Lalong led APC governmrnt succeeded in bringing about relative peace and unity in the State. That was the cardinal point of his 5-point policy thrusts given that peace and security were sine qua non for achieving the remaining four policy agendas.

Governor Bako Lalong demonstrated very honest leadership and height of integrity that is very uncommon in our contemporary times.

He did well in bringing development to Plateau

Lalong delivered a great performance on the area of welfare of Plateau citizens. The most remarkable is the regular payment of workers’ salaries and clearance of pension arrears.

In the area of commerce and industry, Lalong government entered into agreements and partnership with various firms to resuscitate the burnt Jos Main Market (largest in West Africa); the Jos International Breweries (JIB); Highland Bottling Company; and the Inland Container Depot. This is to stimulate job opportunities for the teeming youths and the unemployed in the state.

Lalong is doing excellently well in the education sector. He employed qualified teachers to teach in primary and secondary schools in the State. The State government renovated and constructed several block of classrooms across the 3 senatorial districts to create conducive environment for learning. Government also revamped the Plateau State University (PSU), Bokkos. The Governor engaged services of qualified lecturers and send over 200 academic staff overseas for postgraduate studies. The University successful held its maiden convocation as a result of Lalongs commitment to elevate the institution to higher heights.he added .

Meanwhile citizens of the LGA ,have commended the LGA boss for the good Job he is doing in the LGA

Jinan Timothy , a citizen of the LGA who spoke with our correspondent said ” Hon Rims is doing excellently well in providing dividends of democracy to the people of the LGA , “Like Lalong, Rims has done well and is still doing well for the LGA , That’s why we call him the Tinubu of Langtang South .”

Another citizen of the LGA Temya Adamu , said “the impressive developmental strides of Hon Rims is commendable .”

“I call on him to continue to do more for the people of the LGA .”

To me ,My chairman and his deputy deserves an award ,he is one of the best in the state .

A Medical doctor who recently visited the LGA who does not want his name in print said Hon Rims is doing well in bettering the lives of citizens of the LGA .

“His developmental strides are monumental .”
