Hon. Abbey Aku Says His National Assembly Aspiration is to Attract Development Projects, Carpet Persons Engaged in Campaign of Calumny

The Plateau State Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Joseph Abbey Aku has said his intention to contest the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency Seat which became vacant following the demise of Late Hon. Haruna Maitala is to attract developmental projects to the Federal Constituency, collaborate with Plateau State Peace building Agency and other Peace Building Organizations to Marshal best ways to achieve sustainable peace and security in the Communities bedevilled by violent crisis.
He hinted that having served as Senior Legislative Aide at the National Assembly, he has garnered experience, skills and competence needed to sponsor bills that will impact the citizens and the society significantly as well as have regular consultations with the Constituents to know their needs and ensure they are met.
He disclosed that he is in the contest to provide credible and exceptional representation to the people.

He frowned at a campaign of calumny, mischief and character assassination being orchestrated by a faceless person who sponsored a writeup on social media which said he was endorsed by a religious body.

He described the propaganda being peddled as the height of insensitive, decay in moral occasioned by desperation.
He said it is unfortunate that the said publication is said to be a purported interview I granted a medium.

He said in democracy, freedom of expression is encouraged to deepening the process, he however said the piece on the social media is not an opinion on his aspiration but outright falsehood, spurious, misplaced and malicious aimed at character assassination.

“Let me make it categorically clear that I have never granted any interview to any medium regarding my ambition to contest the Bye-Election”

“The public is hereby, strongly advise to disregard the said publication”
“Those who know me closely would attest to the fact that I am a man of the people owing to my background as a well cultured man”

“In my years of sojourn in the political terrain, I have never received an endorsement by any person or group to succeed”

“My manifesto has always been my selling point and I have always believe in team work irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation” he posited.

He appealed to all those contesting not just for the Bye-Election but any other election to engage more in revealing what they have for the electorates rather than engaging in campaign of calumny aimed at destroying the reputation of others.
