HOD Nursing Services, Other Directors Laud Prof. Chris Yilgwan for Sterling Performance, Calls for Attention to Certain Areas

The Head of Department Nursing Services of the Plateau State Specialist Hospital Jos, Mrs Mrs Nanyil Ezra Dablet has commended the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Prof. Christopher Sabo Yilgwan for his sterling performance and leadership since he assumed office.

Mrs Nanyil who was accompanied by her team of newly constituted Directors while on a familiarisation visit appreciated the Chief Medical Director for the good job he is doing so far and promised to be supportive in order to achieve the mandate of the Tertiary Health Institution which is providing quality and exceptional healthcare services to the citizens of the State.

She highlighted some of the achievements of the Chief Medical Director to include improved water supply, staff welfare and motivation, exemplary and quality leadership style and send forth for retirees which she said has never been done in the hospital before.

She also highlighted some of the challenges being faced to include shortage of manpower, insecurity, movement of reptiles within the premises, lack of Secretariat to ease communication and lack of a dedicated vehicle to address the department’s mobility need.

In his remarks, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan appreciated the Team for the visit and acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the Nursing Department to the healthcare system.
He said efforts will be put in place to address the challenges facing the Hospital especially having a conducive working environment and improving security.
He emphasized how passionate Gov. Mutfwang is about the health sector which he has made a priority.
He told the delegation that the Governor has approved the Purchase of a hundred beds, mattresses and other basic work tools required.
He promised to carry all along and assured them of his commitment to the health sector and Welfare of staff.
He hinted that the support for Mutfwang-led Administration is imperative on account of the great plans he has for the health sector, other Sectors, the entire State and the Citizens.

Also present was the Health Commissioner, Dr. Shirkuk Bako who commended the contributions of the Nursing Department to the Hospital and assured them of government intervention to addressing the problems presented urging them to key into the present administration’s agenda.

Among the delegation were Mrs Biba Lagi, Mr Sunday Gonzuk, Mrs Helen Dawam, Mrs Felicia Zainab Awasak, Mrs Rimikat Ndam, and Mrs Jummai Maram.
