Heads of Security Agencies in Plateau State Praises Taskforce on Recovery of Government Property Established by Governor Mutfwang

Heads of security agencies in Plateau State have expressed strong support for the establishment of a Taskforce on the recovery of government properties by Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

The commendation came from the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina,the representative of the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Plateau State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Ishaku Musa, during meetings with members of the Taskforce led by its Chairman, Brigadier General Nash Yakubu (rtd).

During the courtesy visits to their respective offices, the security chiefs acknowledged the importance of the Taskforce’s mandate to recover state properties unlawfully acquired.The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adesina remarked, “What the Taskforce is doing for Plateau State is a critical assignment. I am not a politician, but it is concerning that individuals often leave office with government properties that do not belong to them. Establishing this Taskforce and appointing credible personalities shows the state government’s seriousness. This initiative will send a strong message that such practices will no longer be tolerated.” He assured the Taskforce of the Police Command’s unwavering support, including the deployment of personnel whenever required. He also pledged to brief Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across all Local Government Areas to ensure the Taskforce receives the necessary cooperation.

Similarly, the representative of the FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Japheth Dajangla applauded the Governor for selecting competent individuals to spearhead the initiative. “This is a serious and well-thought-out endeavor. Ensuring that square pegs are placed in square holes is the first step toward success. Although the task is challenging, I am confident it is achievable. I commend Governor Mutfwang for constituting this Taskforce, which will recover properties that rightly belong to the state.”

On his part, the NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Ishaku Musa, highlighted the detrimental impact of pilfering on governance. He noted that while governments strive to deliver public benefits, the actions of a few individuals often undermine these efforts. He commended Governor Mutfwang for taking decisive steps to address such misconduct and pledged the NSCDC’s full cooperation in ensuring the Taskforce’s success.

Earlier, Brigadier General Nash Yakubu (rtd), Chairman of the Taskforce, explained the team’s mandate to the security chiefs. He emphasized the need for collaboration with security agencies to guarantee the success of their mission. “As critical stakeholders, your support is vital to the success of this assignment,” he stated.
