The Plateau Patriotic Front, PPF has questioned the obsession of mischief makers in trading the defection of Governor Caleb Mutfwang from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Reacting to the buzz on Thursday of the defection of the governor to the APC, the group averred that the APC in Plateau State was now desperate in its obsession to have Governor Mutfwang join its fold.
While noting the governor’s rejection of the defection and his continued fidelity to the PDP, the group said that it was now certain that the governor has become a good product that the APC on the plateau is desperate to have clean its fold.
The Chairman of the group, Mani Imman, in a statement issued in Jos on Thursday, said, “People who are obsessed with Governor Caleb Mutfwang are going about peddling rumors about his defection even when the Governor insisted that he has not contemplated leaving his Party, the PDP.
“These mischief makers are bent on causing a disaffection and distrust between him and his Party men who may be deceived to doubt his sincerity. Governor Mutfwang recently hosted his colleagues in the PDP and had very useful discussions that are paving the way for an amicable resolution of lingering issues affecting the Party in the North Central zone.
“The leadership style of Governor Mutfwang and his achievements in governance are endearing him to people within and outside his Party and State. Little wonder the APC is making frantic efforts to link him to the APC to use his popularity and political achievements to redeem their battered image in the State.”
Imman called on citizens to remain calm and trust that “if Governor Mutfwang is to leave the PDP, he will not do that in secrecy but would boldly inform the people of the choice which is entirely his to make.”
