The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed profound grief over the passing of the former Vice Chancellor of Plateau State University, Bokkos, Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam, following a protracted illness.
In a heartfelt condolence message, Governor Mutfwang described the late Prof. Izam as a fountain of knowledge and a towering symbol of peace and unity, whose selfless service to the state and the academic community has left an enduring legacy.
He noted that the renowned scholar and expert in the building sector devoted his life to nurturing and developing young people, many of whom are today contributing meaningfully to national development in various capacities.
The Governor prayed that God would raise men and women of integrity and wisdom to sustain the exemplary leadership and noble ideals championed by Prof. Izam throughout his lifetime.
Governor Mutfwang lamented that Prof. Izam departed at a time when Plateau State greatly needed his wealth of experience, wise counsel, and unwavering commitment to peace and unity.
He described his demise as a monumental loss not only to his immediate family but also to Plateau State and the nation at large. The Governor urged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that the late scholar lived a fulfilled life marked by faith, compassion, empathy, and fairness.
On behalf of his family, the Government, and the people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his deepest condolences to the immediate family, his children, and the entire Izere Nation.
