In a positive move towards giving back to society, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has commissioned the newly renovated and fully furnished Barr. Caleb M. Mutfwang’s Crèche at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Kaduna.
The crèche ward, renovated and equipped through the personal intervention of Governor Mutfwang, was commissioned on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The initiative is aimed at creating a nurturing and conducive learning environment for young mothers and their children, thereby investing in a brighter future for the next generation.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Mutfwang expressed delight at the progress witnessed at the hospital under the leadership of the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Professor Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u.
“I am pleased to witness the transformation and development taking place at this hospital. Under the capable leadership of Professor Armiya’u, the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital has recorded tremendous strides. I am here to show support and identify with the positive work being done both in Jos and here in Kaduna,” the Governor stated.
He continued, “It is my honour to contribute in a modest way to the growth of this great institution. I therefore commission this crèche for the use of young parents and their children, with the hope that it will further support the excellent services being rendered here.”
Earlier, the Medical Director/CEO, Professor Aishatu Yusha’u Armiya’u, warmly welcomed Governor Mutfwang and expressed deep appreciation for his benevolent gesture. She noted that the Governor responded promptly when approached for support, accelerating the process that led to the facility’s transformation.
Professor Armiya’u commended the Governor’s philanthropic spirit, affirming that the crèche would be maximally utilized for the benefit of patients and for the broader service of humanity.
