Plateau determined to develop the agricultural sector – Gov Lalong

Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong has said with sustained peace and current strategy by government to develop the agricultural sector, the state in years to come will not have to depend on federal allocation. 

Governor Simon Lalong stated  this when a group known as Who is who Award paid him a courtesy visit at the Governor’s lodge Abuja

Governor Lalong lauded the Diversification policy of the federal government and explained that with fertile soil and conducive weather of the state, agricultural production was highly favoured.

The Governor Expressed optimism that  with the recent approval  to access funds from the African Development Bank, potatoes production and exportation would be realistic by the state.

While stressing that peace was key to the development of Agricultural sector, the Governor said the current peace being enjoyed was a result of collective effort and called for its sustenance.

Speaking earlier leader who is who, Daniel Okpanachi said the group is determine to recognise and promote  people who are exceptional in their fields and endeavors and give them both national and international publicity. 

According to him, last year the group held its nomination programme  in plateau state with the aim of marketing achievers through hard work as a way of encouraging them.

The group later presented the governor with an award confirming him as an impact Maker for his tract records of achievement.
