Gov. Mutfwang, Sen. Lalong, Dr. Pokop, Others Eulogises Chief Kefas Ropshik “Kefiano” at 50

The 50th birthday celebration of renowned Plateau State businessman and philanthropist, Chief Kefas Wungak Ropshik, fondly known as Kefiano, has been described as historic and unforgettable, as political leaders, captains of industry, and community stakeholders gathered to honour his life of impact and service.

Chief Kefas Ropshik, who is the Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Kefiano Autos, Chillers by New Yorkers, Kefiano Farms, KC Hub, and the Kefiano Global Foundation, rose from a humble background to become one of Plateau State’s most respected Entrepreneurs and humanitarian Figures.

Despite attaining remarkable success, Kefiano’s passion for uplifting the downtrodden has remained unwavering. His philanthropic footprint cuts across support for widows, orphans, internally displaced persons, and other vulnerable groups, driven largely by his personal experience with poverty and hardship.

The celebration, which held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Langfield Leisure Park, Little Rayfield, Jos, attracted a large turnout of dignitaries and well-wishers who converged to celebrate a man widely acknowledged for his commitment to social transformation and human capital development.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Medical Director of Jos University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Pokop Bupwatda, commended Chief Kefiano for his infrastructural interventions at the hospital and for settling medical bills of indigent patients.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Pharm. Bernard Doro, also praised Kefiano’s humanitarian initiatives, noting that his efforts continue to complement government interventions aimed at poverty reduction.

Similarly, the immediate past Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau South, Sen. Simon Bako Lalong, described Kefiano as an industrious and influential businessman whose contributions to community development and nation-building remain commendable.

In his remarks, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, portrayed the celebrant as a strategic business Leader whose innovations have contributed significantly to Nigeria’s economy, particularly in the automobile sector, while expanding into agriculture. He also applauded Kefiano’s firm commitment to philanthropy through the Kefiano Global Foundation, which focuses on education, youth and women empowerment, and support for vulnerable persons.

Business Associates lauded Chief Kefiano for his integrity, consistency, and reliability as a trusted partner over the years.

In his response, Shawn Kefas, son of the celebrant, thanked dignitaries and guests for honouring his father and celebrating his five decades of excellence. Elder brother to the celebrant, Nde Nengak Kefas, recalled Kefiano’s early years, describing him as hardworking, selfless, and deeply committed to the welfare of others.

The celebrant, Chief Kefas Ropshik, expressed profound gratitude to God for the grace that has brought him this far, acknowledging that his life remains a testament to God’s unending mercy. He described himself as a vessel used by God to impact humanity and society, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to humanitarian interventions and other positive engagements capable of adding value and transforming lives. Chief Kefas also appreciated all dignitaries, friends, and well-wishers who took time to attend and celebrate with him on the occasion of his golden jubilee birthday.

The event featured colourful cultural and musical performances by the Afizere Dancers, The Eagles, Solomon Lange, Cris Skillz, among others. Guests were treated to sumptuous meals and refreshments, with Bright Grillzz adding flair through an impressive display of well-grilled cows.
