Gov. Mutfwang Play Host to New GOSA Executives, GOSA Set ’82, Pledges Collaboration for Plateau State’s Economic Growth

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to partnering with reputable organizations within and outside the state to create an enabling environment for the growth and development of the state’s economy.

Governor Mutfwang made this known on Monday while hosting the newly elected Executive Council members of the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA), at the New Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

Congratulating the new Executive Committee led by Arc. Samuel N. Jatau, who also serves as the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), the Governor expressed his administration’s dedication to the renewal and development of Gindiri for future generations.

He announced his intention to dedicate his upcoming 60th birthday to launching a “Gindiri Renewal Initiative,” emphasizing the historical and educational significance of Gindiri, which dates back to 1930.

The Governor highlighted that Gindiri has birthed notable institutions such as Boys Secondary School, Girls High School, the former Teachers College (now Comprehensive College), Pastors College, a degree-awarding institution, a School for the Blind, and a Demonstration Primary School.

“For me, Gindiri is a community, a Local Government of its own, and we cannot afford to let it decline. It has been a burden on my heart, and I believe it is part of the reason God placed us in this position: to restore its legacy,” Governor Mutfwang remarked.

He lauded Gindiri’s contributions to producing qualified professionals who serve effectively across Nigeria and beyond. The Governor also revealed plans to engage President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve legacy school redevelopment projects, citing institutions such as St. Louis, St. John, and St. Joseph, which were built through the sacrifices of forebears and must be preserved for posterity.

In his remarks, Arc. Samuel N. Jatau expressed gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for the warm reception and commended his transformative impact across Plateau State. He said the visit by the National Executive Committee was aimed at formally introducing themselves to the Governor who is a proud GOSA member.

Jatau appreciated the Governor for appointing GOSA members into his administration based on merit and assured him of the Association’s unwavering support in advancing Plateau State’s development.

Later, Governor Mutfwang had a heartfelt reunion with GOSA Set ’82 at the Presidential Residence, New Government House, Rayfield. The meeting fostered meaningful discussions on charting a path toward the continued growth and development of Plateau State.
