Gov. Mutfwang Charges New Advisers to Deliver Results, Boost Public Confidence

Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has charged newly appointed Special Advisers and Honorary Special Advisers to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering measurable results, strengthening public trust and advancing the interests of the state.

The Governor gave the charge on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony at Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, stressing that public office demands integrity, discipline, accountability and selfless service.

“Our administration has been guided by a clear conviction: the mandate freely entrusted to us by the people of Plateau State is not a privilege to be enjoyed, but a solemn responsibility to be discharged with integrity, humility, sincerity and measurable results,” Mutfwang declared.

He said the appointments were intended to strengthen governance, broaden consultation, improve policy formulation and implementation, and bring additional expertise into government.

The Governor urged the appointees to provide timely, evidence-based advice, develop practical solutions to emerging challenges and translate policy ideas into actions that improve citizens’ lives. He cautioned against personal interests and internal rivalries, insisting that loyalty must be demonstrated through responsible service and commitment to the collective good.

“Our administration needs people who can offer honest advice, identify workable solutions and remain focused on the collective interest of the state,” he said.

Reaffirming his administration’s priorities, Mutfwang identified peace and security as paramount, citing the reinvigoration of Operation Rainbow, strengthened community-based security initiatives and the training of approximately 1,500 personnel.

He also highlighted investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, energy, water supply, sanitation, transportation and road infrastructure, with particular emphasis on improving living conditions in rural and underserved communities.

Acknowledging the challenges ahead, the Governor urged the appointees to remain accessible and responsive to the needs of women, young people, farmers, entrepreneurs and vulnerable groups. He reaffirmed his commitment to rebuilding affected communities, consolidating peace and creating opportunities for all residents to prosper with dignity.

Mutfwang expressed deep sorrow over the fresh attack in Gyero village, Jos South Local Government Area, describing it as deeply troubling amid ongoing efforts to strengthen security and protect lives and property.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely, credible and actionable intelligence, including early warning signals, to enable swift intervention and prevent further attacks.

Declaring that “the Time Is Now,” the Governor called on the appointees to help strengthen institutions, deepen peace and accelerate development, translating the administration’s vision into tangible improvements across Plateau State.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, the Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Titus Alams, thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in them and pledged that they would not take the opportunity to serve for granted.

“Your Excellency, thank you for believing in us,” Alams said, noting that their contributions would form part of the administration’s legacy.

He also acknowledged the support of the State party chairman, the Secretary to the Government of the State, the Head of Service, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, and the appointees’ spouses and families.
