News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has approved the extension of the fifty percent waiver on all land transactions in the state.

A statement signed by Joel Angai for the Director of Administration says the Governor approved the extension in view of the current economic situation which made it difficult for the public to benefit from the initial waiver.

The statement also said this might be the last time such waiver would be extended and therefore called on land title holders to avail themselves of such opportunity and settle ground rents, renew their titles as well as register their properties.

The release also said after the expiration of the waiver period, the ministry will commence prosecution of defaulters in the tax court.
