GOPRI brainstorm to end herders /farmers clash in Plateau

Commander of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH ) deployed to restore law and order in Plateau,Bauchi and Southern Kaduna Major General Anthony Atolagbe, has appealed to the people of the state to continue to stay peacefully with one another .
Atolagbe made this known while speaking on Tuesday at a one day summit to end ethnic, religious and farmers /herders clash and presentation of icon of peace and community service award to Alhaji Abubakar Aljimma (Sadeeq Plaza) which was organized by Global Peace and life Rescue Initiative ( GOPRI ) in Jos .
He urged citizens to continue to corporate with security agencies to sustain the existing peace in the state.
“I am calling on them to continue with the corporation with us to sustain the peace in the state”, he said.
Director General of Research and Documentation of Plateau State government Professor John Wade said that the state Governor, Simon Lalong , led administration is determined to bring lasting peace to Plateau .
He said: “The establishment of the Peace Building Agency is in line with the vision of the governor of Plateau State, , Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong to build and promote a stable, prosperous and peaceful Plateau and what we are doing today aligns with the first policy agenda of his administration which include Peace, Security and Good Governance.
“Our idea is to develop a five-year strategic plan through benchmarking exercise that identifies good practices, highlight key lessons learned including a calendar to specify key intervention areas.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Director General of Global Peace and life Rescue Initiative ( GOPRI ) Melvin Ejeh said peace is very important and it’s time to return Plateau back to the way it was
I am appealing to residents of Plateau to continue to stay peacefully with one another
He also commended the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts at restoring peace in the state .
While presenting the award to Sadeeq Plaza the executive director of GOPRI Melvin Ejeh described him as a philanthropist who has done a lot in empowering women, youths in the country as well as promoted peaceful coexistence among citizens of Plateau.
