GONTORI MOVEMENT 2023,THE DEVELOPMENT OF PLATEAU STATE IN VIEW.

PART-1

Gontori movement 2023 is a political journey of the great man full of energy, insight and vision for plateau state,Hon Manji B.D.Gontori.our quest in this movement is to occupy the number one seat of plateau state come 2023(Governorship seat) and this is to give this man who loves plateau state and it’s inhabitants so much the opportunity to bring to bare the developmental strides that will better the lot of the plateau citizenry.

This movement is not just the normal noise made by politicians just for their selfish gains but a deliberate resolve to change plateau state for better. In this piece,I will be outlining some of the focus we have for the state and take them one after the other. You will need to follow all the parts from part one to the end for you to have the full picture of our vision.

The vision of making plateau greater and better cut across:
1.Road construction projects(opening up the rural roads, linking them with urban centres)
2.Agricultural revolution
3.Educational development(raising the educational standard from the elementary level to the ‘A’ level)
4.Revamping the tourism sector(this was dealt with by Linus Goleng De emancipator recently in his writeup:PLATEAU IS BLESSED PART-1)
5.Job creation for purposeful youth engagement via industrialization of the state and the exploration of solid mineral deposits in the state.
6.Enhancing the security architecture of the state and building a lasting peace for the growth and development of plateau.
7.Economic and socio-political development of the state(improving on the Small and medium enterprises )

In this part one,I will be focusing on few of the above while we take the remaining sub-sequently.

1.ROAD CONSTRUCTION(Opening up of rural areas).

Gontori has a vision of making plateau greater than how J.D Gomwalk of blessed memory left it.this vision is to opening up not only rural roads but also linking some communities in the city with the capital city for easy access. The availability of resources which will also be the top most priority of Gontori’s administration if given the opportunity will see to the fulfilment of this dream.
Going round the state ,Gontori found out that our LGAs need much attention in the quest of rural development.access road is vital in bringing about economic growth and development of plateau.looking at the three (3)senatorial districts of plateau,we will be taking few LGAs out of them as a case study.
a.Wase LGA in southern zone:Plying the road from Wase town to Kadarko area,Gontori affirm that there is need to open up rural roads. So many Agricultural produce are gotten from there and beyond yet the rural dwellers battle so hard to take their farm produce like rice, yam, maize etc to the market.our resolve is to see that such areas are open up.the road linking Kadarko to Langtang south down our border with Taraba state will given much attention.not only that side but other LGAs in southern zone also.

b.Riyom LGA in the Northern zone:Getting the first hand information on the crisis prone areas in Riyom LGA around the Jol axis and other communities,it’s expedient to open up roads in those areas for easy access by security agents in times of emergency.those localities will also find it so easy to transport their farm produce to the market.

c.Kanam LGA in the central zone:Gontori is familiar with the terrains of our LGAs. In kanam, the road that lead to Ndal-kwalmiya -Gum-Dugub which the present administration of Gov Lalong is working on and the road that lead to Tayirok from kwalmiya to Dogon Ruwa the headquarters of Jhar nation, are key and will be given much needed attention.the state will in collaboration with Bauchi state govt link up the road from Dugub to Munkal and also to link Tatnum or Ndid with Garyang to Amper in Kanke LGA.

These are just our case studies.these plans are there for all the 17 LGAs of the state.
There are also areas in Jos city that have no access roads.due to the rural urban drift, the city centre is becoming over populated and many are begining to build houses in the suburbs but no motorable today e.g Dadin kowa to kangang and new Abuja needs attention.another area is NVRI in vom road to Chakarum in Vwang district of Jos south LGA will also be taken care of.the road from Mista-Ali to Terya in Bassa LGA need to be handled.
These are few out of the roads in the city that will be given much attention.

2.AGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION.

It’s no longer news what the FG is doing in terms of Agricultural revolution.Nigeria is now producing large quantity of varieties of crops and exporting them to other countries.
Gontori movement 2023 seek to bring GREEN REVOLUTION on the plateau.our research has shown that Apple can grow well on the plateau esp in Bokkos LGA.our govt will ensure that such crops are cultivated in large quantity through govt intervention programs.

Storage facility centres will be built across the 3 Senatorial zones to help farmers store there crops particularly perishable crops without any loss.the good example is how tomatoes was wasted in Pankshin/Kanke LGAs and other places during the lockdown period due to covid-19.this was largely as a result of lack of storage facilities.
Modern storage facilities for yam and other crops will be provided in all the zones particularly southern zone of the state.

Animal production will also be encourage largely to our rural dwellers.
We will revamp ASTC for maximum out put.
Fertilizer and herbicides will be made available to farmers at a subsidize rates to ensure large production of crops.

Dry season farming will also take the centre stage.earth dams will be constructed to make water available for irrigation purposes.

Follow us in the part tow(2) of this write-up to catch up with the other aspects of our developmental focus for plateau come 2023.

Thank you for reading.

Note that your inputs are very necessary to help us in our resolve to make plateau state better if given the mandate come 2023,so feel free to drop what you feel we left out.
