Former Plateau State Governor, Senator Joshua Chibi Dariye has felicitated with Lieutenant General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma GCON retired on the occasion of his 87th birthday anniversary.
According to a statement, Senator Dariye paid glowing tributes to the leadership role of General Danjuma which has brought peace, stability and peace coexistence in Nigeria.
He recalled with fond memories, the General’s unwavering commitment, dedication, hardwork and patriotism in repositioning the Nigerian Army to global standard while serving as Chief of Army Staff during one of the country’s turbulent times.
The former Governor highlighted his immense contributions to upliftment of the citizen’s living standard through the popular TY Danjuma Foundation which offered numerous interventions especially to the vulnerable and the needy.
” The impact of General TY Danjuma is felt in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria through his Foundation which has impacted many lives in virtually all the sectors of the economy. He built many structures in Nigerian Universities to support the educational growth of our youths and hospitals in many parts of the country ” Senator Joshua observed”
Senator Dariye applauded the celebrant for the establishment of a globally-acclaimed business conglomerate in virtually all the sectors of the economy thereby creating jobs for teeming Nigerian youths.
He commended the patriotic zeal of the former Chief of Army Staff who served as Minister of Defence as well as Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council and Presidential Policy Advisory Committee to contribute his quota to nation building.
While describing General Danjuma as a detribalized Nigerian, Senator Dariye noted that his contributions to the development of Nigeria and beyond will never be forgotten.
On behalf of his family, friends and political associates, the former governor prayed God to give him more wisdom, strength and good health as he continue to offer wise counsel to the younger generation.
