First Batch of Nigeria’s Christian Pilgrims Arrive Amman, Jordan to Begin Pilgrimage Exercise

Amman, Jordan, 23rd December, 2024.

The first batch of Christian pilgrims for the 2024 Main pilgrimage exercise arrived safely in Amman, Jordan, to begin their spiritual journey. The inaugural flight, comprising mainly Lagos pilgrims, departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 10:20 pm on Sunday, 22nd December, and landed at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, at 7:20 am local time.

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, led the delegation of pilgrims and was impressed with the warm reception accorded the Nigerian pilgrims by the Jordanians. The Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan, Kamfut Umaru was at the airport to receive the Executive Secretary of NCPC, officials, and pilgrims.

The pilgrims were treated to melodious local dance music by the Jordanians at the airport, and the NCPC boss, Federal Commissioners, board members, and pilgrims danced to the local rendition. After the airport reception, the pilgrims retired to their hotels to commence their pilgrimage tour program to holy sites in Jordan.

The pilgrims will spend three days in Jordan before proceeding to Israel to continue the rest of their pilgrimage journey, which is scheduled to last 10 days.
