Film-maker Nenrot Goyol and other Plateau citizens lampoon PLSG’s lackadaisical leadership

Following the passionate call by Dr Chris Piwuna for Governor Simon Lalong to resign as a matter of principle, several citizens have continued to lampoon the leadership of the state for lackadaisical leadership and poor governance.

Yesterday, another concerned citizen Mrs Nenrot Goyol Akinrowo (a film-maker and communication expert) made another rallying cry, expressing disappointment and dissatisfaction at the manner in which the Plateau citizenry have been neglected, abandoned and disrespected after voting en-masse for the government which promised to uplift their plight.

In a short video tagged “too pissed to type“, which Nenrot shared with her friends on social media, she expressed deep regret at the state of roads, infrastructure and basic amenities in Jos. She said “I tried to type this, but I am rather too pissed to type, so I will rather makes a video to express my frustration“.

The video can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/nennypearl/posts/10158347502558186

Speaking further, she said, ” I wonder why someone will wake up and decide that I’m going to run for political office, the person goes all out to campaign … making promises about one thing and another …spending a lot of money to woo the electorate. Then when you are voted-in you lean back and do nothing … I really don’t get it.

Is it that in your head, you were just thinking about how you would get there, steal money and do nothing? … How inhumane and heartless can you be! That aside, this Jos road issue is a big one…..Gov Lalong, I want to understand how we are getting from where ever to worse!!! … Terminus is like a garbage bean…drive around town and sees how the situation is for the people who voted you. The Governor-Citizen relationship is not working… I don’t even know if the system works anymore, the house of assembly is silent… please we are begging you to do you job…..”

In investigating the points raised by Nenrot Goyol in her video, ViewPointNigeria unearthed a charitable and philanthropic gesture which was planned under the auspice of a group called “Concern Plateau Community Project” –where the group of concerned Plateau citizens organised themselves into a small unit and embarked on a task to reconstruct the Dogon Karfe-Abbatoir and Fototek-British America roads, given the unability of Government to do so.

In a letter dated 11th August 2020, the group wrote PLSG, detailing their intention to independently reconstruct the road using charitable donations from their pockets, but also from spirited individuals. However the government came down hard on this group deriding them for the initiative and asking them not to undertake the project. This strange response by Government has perplexed many citizens and so ViewPointNigeria shall undertake further investigations and research on this matter and report back in the coming days.

In the mean time, we have attached both the letters by the “Concerned Plateau Communities Project” where the gave notice to government about the charitable work they are seeking to do and the terse and perplexing government response.
