Reliable information available to ViewPointNigeria Suggests the regular salary payments as it concerns those States that pay salaries promptly may be affected.
It was gathered that States that depends solely on the Federation Account may find it difficult or impossible to pay salaries promptly.
This is as a result of the inconclusive meeting of the Federal Accounts and Allocation Committee (FAAC) which ended in a deadlock.
The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun who doubles as FAAC Chairman said the meeting ended in a deadlock because the revenue remitted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) was ‘unacceptably’ low.
She said she is not comfortable with the revenue remitted by the NNPC.
She also said June Salaries to Federal, State and Local Government Employees may be delayed on account of the FAAC Meeting deadlock.
She said the President and Vice President have been fully briefed about the deadlocked FAAC Meeting.
President Buhari is said to have waded into the controversy between the FAAC & NNPC.
Meanwhile, the opposition party, PDP has blamed the President and his ruling party for the FAAC Meeting deadlock describing it as a shame and blunder.
