Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Prioritizes Health as He Undertakes Free Medical Outreach

The Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D has reaffirmed his commitment to according greater priority to the health of his Constituents through health infrastructural development and other medical interventions.

The Federal Lawmaker made this known during the free medical outreach he organized in the Federal Constituency to provide the Constituents medical attention to help them live healthy and productive lives which in turn will translate to prosperity.

The Outreach which is holding simultaneously at General Hospital Barkin Ladi LGA and the Trauma Hospital Sambak Riyom LGA saw many people being medically attended to in order to enhance their health status.
According to the Federal Lawmaker, it is said that “when health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless & intelligence cannot be applied”
He urged the people to give the needed attention to their health, ensure they go for regular medical checkup and adhere strictly to advice by health experts which are for their own good.

He admonished them to live healthy, modest and decent lives.
He said the outreach became necessary considering the insecurity that displaced many, affected their economic activities and push them to a state of abject poverty which made it impossible for many of them to have resources and access to quality medical services. He said the services provided by the health professionals are free owing to the economic hardships being faced by the people.
He said he will continue to initiate programmes and activities that will have direct impact on the people.

Dr. Tengmang Panshak, an Opthalmologist and Dr. Datiyi Chomo, a Gynaecologist lauded the humanitarian gesture of the Lawmaker saying the outreach has far reaching importance to the people putting into account those who have been screened and attended to so far.

They said so far, over 60 persons are to undergo various surgeries owing to their health situations.

Hundreds of persons have so far been attended to.
Some of the people spoken to who couldn’t hide their joy commended the lawmaker for the opportunity given to them to receive free medical attention.
They appreciated him for the credible representation he is providing and for making the health concerns of the people his priority.

The Free medical outreach is covering surgical such as hernia, hydrocele, ganglion, lipoma and lump; Medical such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, malaria and UTI; Eye including eye checks, refractive errors, free glasses, eye infection and treatment; Screening such as BMI, BP check, sugar check, hepatitis B & C and malaria RDT as well as dental.

Personnel from the Federal Ministry of Health who were at hand to supervise and assess the outreach commended the intervention and expressed satisfaction with the medical services being delivered to the people.
