Elder Isaac Wadak Says Gov. Lalong’s Abysmal Performance Responsible for APC’s Poor Outing

A critical Stakeholder of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Permanent Secretary in the Plateau State Civil Service has disclosed that the abysmal performance of the Lalong-led administration and his attitude towards the people is responsible for the failure of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Plateau State.

According to the financial Expert, Gov. Lalong inability to manage both the financial and human resources in the State led to the poor outing of his Party in Plateau State. He hinted that the Governor is still unable to provide infrastructural development and stimulate economic growth which in turn will translate to needed development and prosperity in the State despite the financial resources at his disposal. He said the debt profile of the State has continued to witness astronomical rise in a geometric progression yet there is nothing developmental to justify the huge borrowings by the present administrative.
“If Lalong had managed the financial resources of the State well and pursue the collective interest of the people my Party, the PDP would had found it tough to defeat the APC, but the results of the 2023 general elections where Gov. Lalong lost the Senate even in his own Local Government with PDP winning two so far with one pending which PDP is still optimistic of emerging victorious these are obvious indications that the people never had it well for the past 8 Years in the State.
The PDP won 5 of the 8 Seats of the House of Representatives, 16 of the 24 Seats of the Plateau State with APC and YPP having 7 and 1 respectively, the PDP overwhelmingly won the Governorship having won 10 out of the 17 LGAs in the State” he said.

The seasoned administration said Plateau people have demonstrated that they are better off with the PDP than the clueless APC in Plateau State.
He asserted that in 2020 the total liabilities of the State stood at approximately 170 billion naira while it was approximately 180 billion naira in Year 2021 with bailout funds of about 35 Billion naira in 2020 and approximately 36 billion naira in 2021.
Total receipts for 2020 stood at approximately 60 billion naira and 66 billion in 2021.
With all these he said there are no corresponding infrastructural development and economic growth to show for all the financial inflows into the State treasury.

“The abysmal performance of Gov. Lalong, his poor leadership and lack of political will to address the insecurity that the people have been facing over the Years made the people not to have confidence in his administration hence the outright rejection.
His losing the Senate election, Presidential election in the State despite being the General of the then APC Presidential Candidate was a signal of his rejection and the APC but it was too late for him to had made amends” he said.

He congratulated the Plateau State Governor-elect Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, Deputy Governor-elect Ngo Josephine Piyo and other elected Representatives charging them all not to disappoint the trust reposed in them by the people but justify the mandates given them with exceptional performance.

“I am optimistic that Barr. Caleb Mutfwang will provide the much needed leadership having demonstrated that so far and we’ll give him the necessary support to succeed.
He will work to unite the People, enhance peaceful coexistence, stimulate economic growth which in turn will translate to prosperity. We look forward to seeing a prosperous State and people where all people are treated fairly and equitably irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political inclinations. That is the Plateau State we look forward to have. I know the task ahead is a herculean one, we are positive that the incoming administration will overcome the challenges and take the State to enviable height” he concluded.
