Eid-Maulud: Plateau police command tightens security

Nigeria Police Force, Plateau State Command, Jos on monday informed members of the public, Muslim Clerics and Worshippers that there is a ban on procession in the evening of 20th November, 2018 after the Id-el-Maulud celebration.

DSP Tyopev Terna , ,police public relations officer,of Plateau state command, in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos also reads that the Command wishes to remind members of the general public that the ban on fire-works; bangers, knock outs etc is still in force and the Command shall not hesitate to prosecute both sellers and users of these disturbing items.

“The DPOs have been instructed to arrest and prosecute any person that sells or uses these items to serve as deterrent to others.”

“Moreover, motorcycles operation has been banned within the Jos Metropolis and the Police are out to enforce the ban without fear or favour.”

“The tricycle riders in the state are encouraged to work within the officially approved hours of 0600hrs to 2100hrs in compliance with the Plateau State Government’s directive.”

The Nigeria Police Plateau State Command has marshaled out a total of two thousand one hundred (2100)personal to carry out the task.

The break down of the personnel is; 121 SPOs, 387 Inspectors, 1520 Rank and File and 72 Traffic Wardens.

Protection of lives and property through effective vehicular and foot Patrols during the period is our utmost concern.

Members of the Public are advised to be security conscious and report suspicious movement around them to the Police.

Owners of vehicles are advised to apply minimum security by fixing pedal and or steering locks in addition to the tracking devices on their vehicles.
