Jos the Plateau state capital witnessed a peaceful Eid-el-Fitir celebration devoid of rancour. Activities and movements around the capital and state in general as was monitored proved so.
The Plateau state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Emmanuel Abuh while affirming the observation stated that the command put everything in place to ensure a peaceful celebration.
He said “This year’s Eid-el-Fitri was the most peaceful in the history of the state. We did not record any death or casualty because there was no ugly incidence that could lead to crisis.”
The PPRO added “The security strategy put in place by the command, coupled with the cooperation of the people of Plateau assisted in the hitch free Sallah celebration. Our officers and men were strategically stationed to avert any ugly situation and to God be the glory we recorded no ugly incidence.”
Abuh called on citizens of the state to live in peace and report any suspicious movements or activities to security operatives as he said “peace is priceless”.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state also confirmed that was no incident of road crash in state during the celebration. This was stated by the Public Education Officer of the command, Andrew Bala who applauded motorists for observing traffic rules.
