The saying “health is wealth” has once again been demonstrated as the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D has reiterated his commitment to provide quality health facilities in order to meet the health care service needs of the people which has continued to increase with low facilities to cater for same.

“Health is a vital component of human existence which must be taken seriously to remain healthy and productive”

The Federal Lawmaker disclosed that a healthy Nation is a productive Nation, and a productive Nation will translate to a prosperous Nation.
He called on the citizens to visit health professionals regularly to assess their health status.

The Legislator charged Government at all levels and other key actors to invest considerably well in the health sector in order to improve the health status of the populace.

He stressed that the health sector remains critical and should not be jettisoned but given greater attention. He also called for better welfare package and other forms of renumeration to health Practitioners in the Nation.
He gave the hints while commissioning a Health Facility at Zaron Community in Foron Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State.

The Health Facility comprised of a male ward, female ward, a medical Laboratory, a Pharmacy Unit, Nursing Room, a consulting Room, a Store, beds and donation of drugs worth Two Hundred Thousand Naira were donated by the Lawmaker. The facility also has motorized borehole and solar street lights installed.

The Community Leaders in their remarks lauded the Lawmaker for the timely intervention saying the Community has been without such a facility. They said the facility will benefit them and improve their health.

The commissioning was attended by the PDP State Chairman, Hon. Chris Hassan who was flanked by the State Executive Committee, State Legislators from Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos South, Bassa, Jos North West, other stakeholders, women and youths.
