Dr. Simon Mwadkwon Receives Award of Excellence from JUTH Resident Doctors

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Branch has given a meritorious award for Leadership Excellence to the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D in recognition of his quality representation and mentorship.

Presenting the award, the Chief Medical Director of JUTH, Prof Edmund Banwat commended the National Lawmaker for his grassroot, purpose driven and people oriented leadership style, saying, he is truly a man of the people.

Responding, Hon. Mwadkwon appreciated ARD for finding him worthy of the award. He eulogized Doctors and health Professionals for their humanitarian services and sacrifices in saving lives. He called for improved welfare and conducive working environment for the Doctors and other health Professionals in order for them to perform optimally. He appreciated JUTH Doctors and other health Professionals for treating and saving his life while he was hospitalized in JUTH as a result of a ghastly car accident. He said, he will intensify his advocacy in the National Assembly for laws that will attract greater attention to the health sector.

Amongst the Awardees were many renown Professors who have excelled and distinguished themselves in various specialties.

The event took place during the Annual General Meeting of the association with the theme, “THE STATE OF MEDICAL PRACTICE IN NIGERIA: PROGRESS OR REGRESS”.

Dignitaries at the occasion were Prof. Edmund B Banwat, Chief Medical Director of JUTH, who was represented by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Dr Pokop Bupwatda, JUTH Director of Administration, Comr. Bitrus Ali, renown Professors, Consultants, Resident Doctors and many others.
