The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) Plateau State Chapter held the maiden edition of its Dinner/Award Night, a day set aside to identify, recognize, appreciate, reward and celebrate those who have contributed immensely to education in the State.

The Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency was honored with an Award by the reputable group in recognition of his outstanding contribution in Education and Human Capital Development on the Plateau State.

The event which held on Friday 10th December, 2021 at Millennium International Event Centre Jos was a convergence of key Administrators and critical Stakeholders in the Education Sector.

While receiving the Award, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon appreciated the professional body for finding him and other Recipients worthy of the Awards.

He said the award will spur him to do more in terms of infrastructural development to address the obvious deficit being confronting the society and make laws that will improve education in the Nation.
He lauded Teachers and School Administration for the value they are adding to humanity and society despite the learning environment which is not conducive and poor welfare.

He hinted that the importance of education to the Nation cannot be overemphasized saying any Nation that intend to move with the rest of the World and compete favorably must invest hugely in the education sector.
He stressed the need for government at all levels to pay greater attention to the education sector and the welfare of Teachers while admonition Teachers not to relent in giving their best in order to produce quality and morally sound graduates.

Other Recipients were: Hon. (Mrs) Elizabeth Wapmuk Plateau State Commissioner of Secondary Education, Hon. Nanbol Listick Member representing Langtang North Central Constituency Plateau House of Assembly, Hon. Dayyabu Garga Executive Chairman Kanam LGC, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency Plateau State, Mr Gabriel Kenabe Dewan, Mrs Mary Gowok former Area Director Pankshin LGA, Mrs Clara Maina Principal Government Secondary School Longkat, Mrs. Suzanna Danap and Mrs Dorcas Pam the Principal Government Secondary School Hwak Kuru.

Earlier in his remarks, the President ANCOPSS Plateau State Chapter who doubles as the Principal Government Science & Technical College Bukuru, Mr. James Dimlong lauded the award Recipients for their commitments to the development of education and said they were meticulously selected for the Awards.
