REP. SIMON MWADKWON ATTENDS RIYOM LG CAN CALENDAR LAUNCH, ASSURES CAN OF HIS SUPPORT TOWARD ITS SECRETARIAT BUILDING
In his effort to support spiritual activities in his Federal Constituency, State and Nation at large, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Rep. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D today attended the Calendar Launch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Riyom LGA which held at COCIN RCC Rahoss assuring the Christian Body of his commitment and readiness to support its proposed Secretariat in Riyom LGA.
Dr. Mwadkwon who was the Chief Launcher at the occasion lauded CAN for the roles it is playing in the area, State and Nation at large. He charged Christians who biblically are described as “the light of the World” to let their light shine all the time and demonstrate love which is the greatest commandment and virtue of God.
He charged Clergies, Traditional Rulers, Political Leaders, Men, Women and Youths to yield themselves to be used by God to transform the world and humanity positively and spiritually.
The Federal Lawmaker who was represented by his Director of Media and Publicity, Cmr. Friday Bako admonished the congregation to turn from their obnoxious ways and serve God diligently and in total obedience.
He urged them to see giving as a blessing and be ready to give cheerfully without grudge.
He appealed to CAN to unite all Christians and concentrate on winning souls for God which he said is its cardinal mandate.
He charged them to be prayerful and trust God despite their daunting challenges while calling on them to adhere to all COVID-19 health protocols and guidelines aimed at stemming the scourge.
The Federal Lawmaker donated the sum of N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) for the event and said his door is opened for more intervention to the secretariat building project.
In his exhortation, the new Plateau State CAN Chairman, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo who read from 1 Corinthians 4:7 posited that all good things people have were freely given to them by God and should be used to serve Him. He urged the Host (CAN) to respect the intention of those that donated to the Launch. He urged those present to be more mindful about salvation and serve God selflessly.
Riyom LGA CAN Chairman, Rev. Amos D. Pam (JP) enumerated some of the achievements and challenges of the body. He thanked all those who have been assisting in various ways and prayed God to bless them richly. He also unveiled the plan of the body to build a befitting Secretariat in the area.
The event was attended by Dagwom Rwey Riyom, HRH Da Samuel Jok, representatives of the Senator Plateau Northern Zone and Transition Committee Chairman Riyom LGC, former Chief of Staff Riyom LGC Hon. Dave Nyango, clergies, Traditional Rulers, other Political Leaders, WOWICAN, YOWICAN, Riyom Gospel Artistes who thrilled the congregation etc in strict compliance with the COVID-19 Protocols.
