PDP received over 5000 Decampees in Bashar district of Wase

OVER 5000 beneficiaries of closed mining activities in Zurak, Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State have dumped the APC for PDP in Bashar on Saturday 27th of January 2018.

The Artisans on the auspices of Yes kawu said the APC has failed them in the area of employment, citing the closure of the mining sites by APC led Federal Government in collaboration with the Plateau State Government and the Member Representing Wase Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon Ahmed Idris Maje.

Chairman of the decampees Dauda Safiyo also cited continuous intimidation and harassment of the artisans and investors by falsely tagging them as terrorists. The leader of the decampees also condemned the incessant dethronement of Local Chiefs in Bashar District just because they are PDP members ,which he said will not deter them from changing the APC in 2019 at all levels.

Earlier on,the Chairman of the artisans,Danla Turaki said, contrary to mischievous claims by unscrupulous elements, Yes Kawu is not a terrorist organization. He said they are open for scrutiny and verification as they have filed their papers for registration at the appropriate agencies.

He therefore call for observance of due process,justice and fair play in dealing with the Association.

While receiving the decampees the PDP Chairman of Wase local Government Area Alhaji Nasiru Abba Ari promised to work closely with the decampees to achieve success in the coming local government elections come February 2018 in the Local Government and 2019 general elections,while also assuring them of equity in the party.

High point of the event was the presentation of motorcycles to the decampees for party activities.

The event went peacefully despite false alarm raised by the APC of which the security forces acted positively.
