The VK Dangin foundation has been lauded for its various humanitarian activities that have brought succour to many downtrodden citizens of Tarok nation.
Only recently, the foundation had made a handsome donation of one million naira in cash, thousands of hand sanitizers and face masks to the local government Covid-19 committee in Langtang North, with the view to waging a successful war against the dreaded virus, while providing palliatives to thousands of citizens of the locality to help cushion the hardship occasioned by the pandemic.
In fulfilling its mission of reaching out to the less privileged and ameliorate the hardships faced by Tarok people, the VK Dagin foundation, which came into being to immortalize the vision of the late Sen. VK Dangin had sunk boreholes in various communities of Langtang North, and paid the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for tens of less privileged children across the four districts of Langtang North, in order to help actualize their dreams of obtaining western education and become useful to the society.
Chairperson of the foundation, Chief Mrs Loko Dangin, says payment of SSCE fees for selected number of less privileged students across the four districts of Langtang North shall be a yearly routine. This, she said, is in tandem with her late husband’s vision for his immediate community and sustaining what he cherished doing while he was still alive.
Some beneficiaries of the SSCE registration who spoke variously in appreciation of the gesture of the VK Dangin Foundation say the only way the can reciprocate this gesture is by reading hard and come out with flying colours in the forthcoming SSCE, and pursue their various ambitions religiously, so as to become useful to themselves and the society.
The various communities that benefited from the provision of handpump boreholes, expressed their gratitude to the foundation for helping to put paid to the perennial water scarcity that had hitherto bedeviled their communities.
